I am due back to uni on the 2nd of may, I am aware that our new project is a digital print project. I have done a lot or research regarding this style of fashion and have become a huge fan of Basso and Brooke. I want to have a better understanding of the process and research more designers using this style. I think it’s important to always keep up to date with fashion and textiles, there are so many inspirational designers out there now a days. I want to build a collection of my favorite designers, by doing this hopefully it will benefit my next project.
I have just discovered Mary Katrantzou, she designs a line for Topshop and has rocketed into the fashion world, showing her work at London Fashion Week. Her digital prints are so feminine yet dramatic, i love her lampshade inspired skirts, i think they are very pretty however I’m not sure if many people could pull this off. I don’t know the process of digital print, but i can not wait to come up with some amazing unique designs and turn them into something great.
A wide range of digital printed fashion, I think the garments being worn together like this is bit too much however I can appreciate the design of each piece.
I love the structure of this garment, the design reminds me of the olden days but with a modern twist. I like the flowers on top of the architectural background.
The lampshade skirts are by far my favorite, such a simple idea yet very effective. I like the print on the skirt, the whole outfit has a romantic feel to it. I really like the story the garment tells, through the scene which has been printed on to it.
