Since researching artists for my current project I have gathered up a huge file of new and inspiring artists. I stumbled across an artist called “Marcus Harvey” a British artists who studied in Goldsmiths college. One piece stood out for me, the Myra Hindley piece. Made completely of children s hand prints. Is this pushing the boundary just a little too far? The piece had to be taken down just a few days after display at the Royal Academy of Art in 1997 to be repaired as there were incidents of people throwing things and damaging the piece.
However isn’t this what contemporary artists want? Controversy?
